You find a strange balance suspended in a bottomless pit. The balance has a white and black chest on each side and is built in such a way that it can rotate, but you can only pick up one of the chests at a time. Because when you pick up one chest the other will be at the opposite end and fall into the pit. Perhaps you could try to offset the weight with a bag of gold when you pick up one of the chests to give you time to rotate the balance and pick up the other. Which chest do you take?
