Blood Altar This is one of the main sites of the Great Bird cult: the Altar of Blood. Here, devotees willingly (most of the time) offer their blood to the Great Bird, as it is through blood that the Great Bird binds the fate of all Aquarfall's creatures. Such is the people's devotion that this altar is always crowded, with a constant flow of blood to feed the Great Bird's ambitions. After waiting for your turn, you find yourselves before a statue of the Great Bird, flanked by two crimson crystals, its beak wide open, and nearby, ritual tools for exsanguination and a bucket. The altar is guarded, and to continue, you must demonstrate your respect for the Great Bird. How will you show your devotion to the Great Bird?

(Tulah): "The bucket is full of blood from the tools, let's use it instead of our own blood. I will distract the crew meanwhile." As you approach the altar, the priestess begins a speech and a prayer, drawing the attention of the pilgrims and guards and allowing you to use the blood in the bucket without raising suspicion. You sense that the Great Bird is tolerant of your actions, as it simply desires blood, regardless of its source. When Tulah finishes her speech, the guards permit you to continue. • You get XP 4

[Party Member]: I will show what true devotion looks like!
There is only one way to show your devotion: by filling the statue until your blood overflows from the Great Bird's beak! You grab one of the tools and place your arm inside the statue's beak. As your blood flows, the statue begins to glow. The glow intensifies, and it becomes hard to keep your eyes open until you finally collapse. When you awaken, weakened by the blood loss, the guards inform you that your sacrifice has brought joy to the Great Bird and allow you all to continue your pilgrimage. Character receives Open Wound.
