Not unlocked by default — recruit him through an in-game quest. Needs a specific act order: Aquarfall Marsh as Act 2, Faeborg Forest as Act 3.

Pick the Aquarfall Marsh for Act 2 and Faeborg Forest for Act 3.
Either pay 800g for the boat, or bring Reginald to get the boat supplies from the lizardmen. Head to the "Sad Minstrel" node.
Accept Gustav's quest to find him a new lute.
In Faeborg Forest, take the southern path to the "Manic Mansion" node.
Choose [Continue] to get the lute. Gustav unlocks.

Passive · Cantor — auto-manages the Stanza (Song) system so his songs flow without setup.

Songs buff the party (accuracy, speed, damage) while he chips in modest damage. Low personal DPS, high team value.
